LOCAL SPOTLIGHT – UNIVERSAL STUDIOS HOLLYWOOD

Universal Studios Hollywood is a film studio and theme park located in Los Angeles County, California’s San Fernando Valley. Around 70% of the studio is located on the unincorporated county island of Universal City, while the remainder is located inside the city boundaries of Los Angeles, California. It is one of the most famous and oldest Hollywood film studios currently in operation. “The Entertainment Capital of LA” is the official marketing slogan. It was the first of several full-fledged Universal Studios Theme Parks throughout the world, and it was built to give tours of the genuine Universal Studios sets.

A new, all-digital facility near the Universal Pictures backlot was developed outside the theme park in an effort to consolidate all of NBCUniversal’s West Coast activities into one location. As a consequence, the Universal lot once owned by Technicolor SA is now home to KNBC, KVEA, and NBC News, together with Noticias Telemundo Los Angeles Bureaus and a new digital facility. The Universal Hilton & Towers, the Sheraton Universal Hotel, and Universal CityWalk, which features stores, restaurants, an 18-screen Universal Cinema, and a seven-story IMAX theater, are all part of Universal City. In 2017, the park had 9.056 million visitors, placing it 15th worldwide and 9th in North America.
